PROXIMITY SENSOR NOTES PROXIMITY SENSOR TYPES AND CONFIGURATIONS SENSOR TYPES Proximity sensors are used as input for control systems and detect the presence or absence of an object. The type of sensor determines what it is able to sense. INDUCTIVE CAPACITIVE Inductive proximity sensors will detect metals only. Capacitive proximity sensors will detect other material as well a metals, such as water, plastics, wood and glass. SENSING DISTANCE The sensing distance will depend on the material being detected, ferrous steel having the longest sensing distance and glass and plastics having the shortest. NPN / PNP NO / NC NO Normally Open ( NO ) Puts power on to the LOAD when an object is placed in front of the proximity sensor within sensing range NC Normally Open ( NC ) Removes power from the LOAD when an object is placed in front of the proximity sensor within sensing range. AUTOMATIC VALVE, ADJUSTABLE TIME ON / TIME OFF Clean Dry Air In order to get the most from your pneumatic equipment the cleaner and dryer the compressed air is, the better it will work and last. Fitting automatic purges to pneumatic water drains removes the need for someone to continually remember to do this, and once automated cannot be forgotten. ONE WEEK DIGITAL TIMER SWITCH, DIN RAIL MOUNT, CONTACTS OUTPUT Digital Timer Switch Timers are the simplest form of automation, allowing for things to happen without the need for someone to be present. Also ensuring that things that have to happen regularly or at specific time are not forgotten. This digital timer allows for the selection of particular days or combinations of days for each time setting, and will not suffer lost time like mechanical timers after a loss of power. Heavier power circuits can be switched by having the timer activate the coil of a larger contactor. Power Supply Voltage 24VDC / 110VAC / 220VAC Timer One week timer. Smallest time 1 minute.
